 Hey, I hope you had a great Memorial Day Weekend!  In the US we celebrate our fallen war heroes on this day, and it always marks the official beginning of summer.

  It also marks the beginning of the Summer Movie Season, and I give a couple of quick reviews in this epsidoe, of THE DaVINCI CODE and XMEN: THE LAST STAND.

  Ok, so despite the title being about movies, (which I'll get to in a moment,) this episode of the show is actually dedicated to all those idiots who drive around in their Subarus with the bumper sticker that says "Kill Your Television."

  These are the same morons who tell you "Oh, I never watch television..." and then proceed to tell you which American Idol contestant they like or who should have been elimated from Survivor. 

  Fact is, Ms. Granola, you can find some really great (and even educational) programming on TV. In fact, far better than most of what's at the movies, at least for the past couple of years.  And even some of what is NOT educational is simply great entertainment.  If you can't find anything good on TV, then stop watching FULL HOUSE reruns and try the Discover Channel, for God's sake.

  Or try LOST.  Or 24.  Or BOSTON LEGAL.  Or BATTLESTAR GALACTICA.  If you are a fan of any of those shows, be sure to check out this episode of RADIO FREE CRUZE, as I recommend podcasts that can get you through the off-season, since all of these shows have already done their season finales.  Here are the links I have so far:

   Welcome to my 40th show!  Wow.  This seems like some kind of accomplishment, and I'm not really sure why.  It's not the 50th show...that will be here soon enough.  I guess 50 is a big deal because it is halfway to a hundred.  And 52 will be a big thing because, if I stay on schedule, that will mark the one-year anniversary of RADIO FREE CRUZE.

 This show was not one of the first podcasts, but I like to think of it as one of the first that was not targeted specifically to other podcasters.  RADIO FREE CRUZE is for people who love great music, pure and simple.  It's not populated by a lot of bands with bad vocalists, like I hear on some other shows, and it's not a "singer/songwriter" show.  The artists that make it on RADIO FREE CRUZE should be able to produce music that's on par with what you hear on the radio, and beyond.  Just because we're getting this music out without the radio, doesn't mean it should be of a lesser quality.

  Anyway, not sure why I got off on that rant.  Show #40 is one of my favorites so far, and only in part because it asks, and answers the question, "...can an astronaut belch or fart in space?"  I feel kinda like Bill Nye the Science Guy.  Although I haven't seen him dealing with space farts.

  At the risk of sounding like a total tool, I also admit that I'm beside myself because no one has taken me up on my offer from show #39 to review RADIO FREE CRUZE on iTunes, and I will send you a RELO iPod case.  The offer still stands for the first 5 people to do so.  Come on, you guys, help me out here.  Don't force me to sign up under 5 bogus names just to keep from embarrassing myself.  Just write a quick review, and then email me at cruze@radiofreecruze.com to let me know you posted it, and I'll send you the free case.

   Speaking of sounding like a tool, I admit on this show that I may have been a little hasty last week when I predicted NINTENDO's downfall because of the ridiculous name they've given their new gaming system, the NINTENDO Wii.  Turns out it was the hit of the E3 convention this last week, so I'm a complete idiot, and everybody will buy the Wii.  Turns out I kinda want one myself.  I think I'll buy it online so I don't have to actually say the name at a store.

  Well, it's been several shows since I went off on a rant about something, so I guess it was just a matter of time.  Thing is, I had to fill up my gas tank today, and the higher the numbers climbed on the pump, the angrier I got. 

Honestly, these current escalating gas prices are absolute horseshit!  Oil companies are reporting record profits, and they are gouging you and me to do it.  So it's a little tough to rein myself in on this topic once I get going.  Thankfully, it's toward the end of the podcast, and the music is so good, you won't mind hearing me rave on.  Check out the lineup for this show:
